Jeremy J. Baillargeon, 30, of Smyth St., Berlin, NH passed away on Monday July 30, 2012 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, surrounded by his family. He was born in Berlin on November 2, 1981 the son of James R. and Debra A. (Thibeault) Baillargeon and was a lifelong resident. Jeremy was an Eagle Scout and a Scoutmaster of Troop 207, a member of the Androscoggin Valley Fish and Game Association and a volunteer at Heritage Park. He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Maggie, was an avid fisherman who tied flies for himself and his friends and enjoyed snowmobiling. He was employed as a diesel technician and had worked at several local businesses.

Jeremy will be sadly missed by his parents Jim and Debbie Baillargeon of Berlin, NH; his brother Matthew Baillargeon and sister-in-law Sarah (Gagnon) Baillargeon of Concord, NH; his maternal grandmother Claire (Tremblay) Thibeault of Berlin, NH; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Gerald Thibeault and his paternal grandparents Jeffrey and Theresa (Aubin) Baillargeon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday August 2, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at church. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to David’s House, PO Box 660, Lebanon, NH, 03766 or to a charity of one’s choice. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Phyllis R. (Roberts) Bryant, 90, of Concord, NH passed away on Sunday evening July 29, 2012 at the Havenwood Heights Nursing Home in Concord. She was born in Potsdam, NY on November 21, 1921 the daughter of the late Robert E. and Lois (Brown) Roberts. She graduated in 1943 from William Smith College in Geneva, NY and from Cornell University with an MA in 1946. She received her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) from Northeastern University. She taught in Warrensburg, NY, Wellesley, MA, Hudson, NH and lastly in Nashua, NH where she lived for 26 years. While working in Nashua, she was a teacher and was principal for 17 years for the Nashua School District. After her retirement, she moved to Punta Gorda, FL, where she and her husband lived for 26 years. Phyllis returned to New Hampshire in 2007.

Members of the family include her son Edward R. Bryant and his companion, Cynthia Brundrett, of Newbury, NH; her daughter Jane Provencher and her husband Jim of Berlin, NH; a granddaughter Jessica Baker of and her husband Jesse E. Baker of Castro Valley, CA; 4 great grandchildren Bella, Wyatt, Cody and Gabby. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Edward C. Bryant in 2006.

SERVICES: A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday August 8, 2012 at 11AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the Bayside Cemetery in Potsdam, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Gerald P. Curtis, 69, of Norway St., Berlin, NH passed away on Wednesday August 1, 2012 at his home.

He was born in Lando, SC on April 8, 1943 the son of William Carl and Nanzetta (Irby) Curtis and was raised in South Carolina.

Gerald spent 28 years in the US Air Force and moved to Berlin in 2005. He and his wife owned and operated The North Country Flea Market and Gunshop in Gorham for the past several years, until illness forced him to retire in April of 2012. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Berlin and his greatest interests were operating his store and going to flea markets.

Members of the family include his wife Cecilia (Moreau) Curtis of Berlin, NH; children Marsha Young and husband Eddie of Chester, SC, Lisa Gaston and husband Dennis of Chester, SC and Kristie Elwell and husband Jimmy York, SC; stepchildren Jennifer Tate of Bartlett, NH and Jason Gleason of Manchester, NH; grandchildren, Ashley Young, Cody Young, Lee Huffstetler, Zach, Miranda, Dillon and Kyla Gaston, Stephen, Evan and Hailee Arnette, Madisyn Elwell, Devin Tate and 1 great granddaughter Bailey Rowe; sister Lynne West; brothers James Curtis, Richard Curtis, Joe Curtis and Bill Curtis; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Marilyn.

Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Florine A. (Bertrand) Dumont, 93, formerly of 717 Second Ave., Berlin, NH passed away on Tuesday August 7, 2012 at the St. Teresa’s Health Care Center in Manchester, NH. She was born in Berlin, NH on September 14, 1918 the daughter of Archibald N. and Mathilda (Nadeau) Bertrand and resided in Berlin until the fall of 2000, when she moved to Manchester. She was a graduate of Berlin High School and married Roland E. Dumont on June 30, 1941. Florine had been a very active member of St. Joseph Parish.

She always enjoyed taking care of her family and was known as a very good cook. Everyone loved her beautiful smile.

She is survived by daughters Simone Routhier and husband Leo of Laconia, NH; Louise Deshaies and husband Hank of Hooksett, NH; son Roger Dumont of Quincy, MA; grandchildren Mark Routhier, Lori Routhier, Gayle Pacifici, Kristen Deshaies and Amy Browning; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Bertrand; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Roland Dumont in 2000, a daughter Lucille Andrews in 2008, and brothers Norman, Wilfred and Bernard Bertrand.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 11, 2012 at 1 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin, NH. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Saturday morning from 10:30 to 12:30, prior to the Mass. Isabelle Blais, 83, of Tenth St., Berlin, NH passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 8, 2012 at her home surrounded by her lovingly family. She was born in Berlin on October 23, 1928 the daughter of Eva and Edward Murphy. She graduated from Notre Dame High School Class of 1947. She married Fernand Blais and they were lifelong residents of Berlin.

Isabelle was an active communicant of Guardian Angel Parish and now the Good Shepherd Parish. She was employed at Sears for several years and later worked as a teller for the Guardian Angel Credit Union. She was a long time volunteer board member for the St. Vincent de Paul Society, having served as its treasurer and president. She also gave many hours of her time to the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop. She was an active member of the Ladies of St. Anne and, more recently, the Marie Rivier Associates. With her husband, they enjoyed traveling to many parts of the United States and Europe. They also took several Caribbean cruises and a Mediterranean cruise celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Many springs were spent helping out Lucien and Muriel at Bisson’s Sugar House. Most of all, Isabelle enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family with her home being the center of many gatherings.

She is survived by her daughters Elise Johnson and husband Mike, Bernadette and husband Tim, sons Lucien and wife Muriel, Daniel and wife Darlene, all of Berlin. She leaves 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister Jeannette Croteau and husband Bob of Lewiston, ME, brother George Murphy of Berlin, sisters-in-law Gladys Murphy, Sr. Jeannine Blais, brothers-in-law Raymond Blais and wife Lorraine, Richard Blais and wife Helen and one aunt and best friend, Simone Hamel. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Fernand, in 2007, daughters Muriel Poirier and Rochelle Blais, sister Dorothy Murphy and brothers Ernest, Henri, Robert and Rev. Romeo Murphy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday August 14, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Interment will be in the St. Anne Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and from 9 to 9:30 AM, prior to the Mass.Donations can be made to AVH Home Health and Hospice, AV Home Care Services or the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Lothrop B. Stone, 70, died Saturday evening August 18, 2012, at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, after a short illness.

Mr. Stone was born on February 10, 1942 in Bridgton, ME, a son of Philip and Irene (Lesso) Stone.

Lothrop was raised in Tamworth and was a graduate of Kennett High School and worked as a lineman and an installer for Verizon, retiring in 2002. He moved from Massachusetts to Berlin 5 years ago. He enjoyed watching sports.

Family members include his wife Allyne M. (Traser) Stone of Berlin, three children, Doug Stone of Plymouth, MA, Dawn Wade of Meredith and Dale Stone of Lincoln, NE, three sisters June Crowell of Wonalancet, NH, Vicki Stone of Conway, Cynthia Stone of FL, David Stone of Conway and Samuel Stone of Bartlett and several grandchildren.

At Lothrop’s request there are no services.

Yolande D. Bisson, 82, of Bisson Road, passed away at her home on Sunday August 19, 2012.

Mrs. Bisson was born in Berlin, NH on December 15, 1929, a daughter of Phillipe and Eva (Lagace) Voisine.

Yolande was a lifelong resident of Berlin. She, along with her husband Paul, owned and operated the Paul Bisson Dairy Farm. She also worked at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home and later was a private duty caregiver.
She was a member of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish.

Family members include four daughters, Constance Guay and her husband Paul of Gorham, Pauline Hawes and her husband Steve of Marathon, FL, Denise Buber and Wayne Buber of Gorham and Marcelle Viger and her husband David of Milan, two sisters, Yvonne Lauziere of Manchester and Jeanne Burbank of Laconia, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and sister’s in-law. She was predeceased by, her husband Paul R. Bisson in 1988 and a grandson Lucas Viger in 2010.

At Yolande’s request there are no services.

Dorothy M. Roy, 91, formerly of Berlin, passed away on August 26, 2012 at the Lexington Health Care Center, Lexington, MA.

Mrs. Roy was born in Berlin, NH on March 20, 1921, the daughter of Wilfred and Yvonne (Roy) McCready. Dorothy was a graduate of Berlin High School and attended Mt. St. Mary College in Hooksett and the University of New Hampshire. She moved to Arlington, Ma in 1966. For a time, she worked for the Berlin Reporter and for many years she worked as a manager at Combined Insurance Company in Massachusetts.

She enjoyed quilting, and in her younger years, enjoyed skiing and artistic painting and she also traveled to many places.

Family members include her husband Andrew M. Roy of Concord, MA, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Aldea E. Alimandi, 79, died Friday morning, August 31, 2012, at the Coos County Nursing Home.

Mrs. Alimandi was born in Berlin on June 20, 1933, a daughter of John and Cecile (Desjardin) Perry.

Aldea was a lifelong resident of Berlin and was a graduate of Berlin High School. She worked as a LPN at the Coos County Nursing in Berlin and also started the exercise program at the Holiday Center. She often traveled with the Holiday Center, enjoyed knitting, watching hockey with her husband, spending time with her family and playing cards.

Family members include her husband Francis J. Alimandi, two sons, Daniel Alimandi and his wife Brinda of Berlin, Francis Alimandi Jr. of Berlin, a daughter Anna Marie Lutz and her husband David of Berlin. 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, one brother, William Lessard and his wife Florence of NY and FL, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son Michael Alimandi in 2010 and a brother Sylvio Lessard.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. A memorial service will be at the funeral home Thursday morning at 11 AM. SR. Monique Therriault will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Kieran Cemetery, Berlin. Donations may be made in her memory to a charity of one’s choice.
